I am running to support refugees as a part of a marathon relay team with my friends and coworkers. I have worked in refugee resettlement for almost 13 years, and my goal is to raise $2000 in the marathon this year! 100% of your contribution goes to Lutheran Family Services to support refugees resettled in the metro Denver area. Now, more than ever, refugees and agencies that help support them through resettlement and integration services, need your support. Resettlement agencies are experiencing drastic funding cuts and refugee families are being separated by the current refugee policy. Refugees truly enrich our community with their culture, knowledge, and economic contributions, and I believe it is our duty as Americans and humans to welcome our neighbors who are fleeing persecution and violence. It is hard to put into words the value that I find in this work: I learn something new every day, and I am honored and humbled to serve. After having some injury struggles the last couple of years, I am training to run the 4 mile leg of the marathon relay. Please help support refugee resettlement in Denver by sponsoring my part of the relay! My team members: Lauren, who works with refugee youth and also does community outreach; Erik one of our job developers; Ian, husband of our quality assurance coordinator; and my good friend Katie, who I met 10 years ago doing triathlon! Thanks for your support!
