UPDATE: UPDATE: 2020 BOSTON MARATHON POSTPONED
The 124th running of the Boston Marathon will be rescheduled to September 14, 2020.
My name is Ben Jacobellis and I am running the 2020 Boston Marathon for the Museum of Science. This life long goal and fundraising effort will be focused on S.T.E.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) programs held at 24 Boston Public Library Branches, disadvantaged school districts in Massachusetts, and other underfunded school systems in New England. S.T.E.M. education provides young minds the knowledge and skills to solve problems and make sense of information in the dynamic world we live in today. I work in technology and found this charity to be a great way to give back to the communities in and around Boston. This is my first marathon!
Please help me reach my fundraising goal and support the amazing people at the Museum of Science and the programs they provide. Thank you so much for your support!
Below is some additional information about the charity.
Starting In 2010, the Boston Athletic Association awarded community partner bibs to the Museum of Science for the Boston Marathon®. All funds raised by the runners would support the Traveling Programs. Traveling Programs’ mission is to teach exciting outreach programs that ignite curiosity in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (S.T.E.M).As of Last year the Museum of Science Traveling Programs made 1,089 outreach visits, taught 2,127programs, served over 100,000 people, and drove 65,367 miles. Communities need science enrichment programs more than ever, and we need your help. Your support will aid in scholarships, program expansion, and of course, the vans that make this entire program possible.
