This year I stepped outside of my comfort zone… I joined the Junior League of Phoenix. Why did I do this? I wanted to find a way to give back to the community and I LOVE their mission: JLP is an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women, and improving the community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers.
During the week of October 21-25th, I am participating in the Junior League of Phoenix’s Mission Week - Mission: Unstoppable, an advocacy campaign to raise awareness of the mission of the Junior League of Phoenix (“JLP”) and raise funds to perpetuate our community impact. We are currently celebrating our 85th year of helping the community. JLP sponsors four community programs that provide nutritious food to hungry children, free hands-on STEM projects, and teach our youth important self-care to keep them healthy.
We also volunteer with community partners like Feed My Starving Children, UMOM, St. Mary’s Food Bank, and the Cinderella Affair. Did you know that we logged over 3,500 volunteer hours last year?
I hope you will support me in this initiative by making a donation to the JLP’s Mission: Unstoppable campaign, which will help us continue to make a difference in Phoenix. My goal is to raise $300, and every little bit helps.
