IWRC Emergency Wildlife Rehab Education Fund
At IWRC, we care about the conservation and protection of wildlife and we are committed to growing and improving our science-based educational resources to push the field of wildlife rehabilitation forward. This ensures that wildlife rehabilitators have the education and support they need to save wild lives and further awareness. To achieve this, we need your help in response to COVID-19 as we evolve to support you and your communities. Please help us raise $2000 to develop lab kits that allow for critical skills to be taught through home-based learning.
As with many organizations, we have had to cancel all in-person workshops including our most popular course, Basic Wildlife Rehabilitation. This year, our organization is facing a projected $70,000 deficit as a result of COVID-19. IWRC is responding to this challenge by developing online services. These courses will offer new teaching tools to provide an enhanced learning experience so that rehabbers can continue to get trained and communities can continue to benefit from their expertise. Using a mix of videos, lab kits, and access to instructors, this format of class will be accessible to anyone worldwide.
This Spring, Wound Management for Wildlife Rehabilitation, which includes a bandaging laboratory, will be released in our online classroom. A new parasitology course, with lab skill training, will be available soon after that. Any funding raised during this campaign will go directly to developing these courses and their vital lab components.
Since founded, IWRC has traveled internationally, supporting an estimated 18,500 wildlife rehabilitators through science-based training and equipping them with educational resources to deliver best practices in their field. Please help us help wildlife by supporting the development of these courses.
