Gordie Howe McShane, a year-old Labradoodle, named after the great #9, Mr. Hockey, is taking major slapshots at Leukemia and Lymphoma these days! This Philadelphia Flyers-colored canine (yes, that's right folks, he's black, white, and has orange highlights in the sun) is raising money in honor of his aunt, Jessica Holland, who was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia at 19-years-old. Today, our family is blessed, as Jessica is healthy and happy because of research like this committed to finding cures. Her miracle baby, son Enzo, will be 2 this September! Family survivors also include cousins Luke Theodosiades, who was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia right after he completed the 6th grade in June 2015 and is now healthy in high school and Tommy McCann, who after many years of various relapses and fights, is now in his 50s with a beautiful family. Gordie is also checking cancer against the boards in honor of those who passed away, including his cousin, Judi Congialdi, who suffered from Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma and died at the very young age of 28. Judi left behind a loving and extremely broken-hearted family, including her beautiful daughter, Francesca, just age 2 at the time. Jessica also lost one of her best friends she met while in the hospital, Kaitlin Anzelone "Baby Oney" from Wildwood, NJ, and many others she came across over the years while working and giving back to LLS. Our family HATES this disease, have so many family and friends who lost a loved one, and wants to put it in the penalty box forever! The "Gordie Howe" hat trick - a goal, an assist, and a fight in the same game, is what we plan for our campaign against cancer. We have a goal of money to raise, an assist in helping patients and their families, and a fight for a cure. Let's pass the puck back and forth - join our team today!
