Story

It Takes A Village - Education Drive

Thank you for visiting It Takes A Village in our support of Enoosoito's education development with our goal of raising $100,000 in 2019.

Located in Narok County, Kenya, the rural community of Enoosoito is made up of large open fields and homesteads. It is home to 1,338 residents, including 653 children under the age of 18.

The community members are predominately from the Maasai ethnic group, and are enthusiastic for the partnership with WE to create transformative, lasting change in their community, by addressing various challenges and barriers that hinder social and economic progress in their community. A lack of adequate educational infrastructure, a lack of access to clean water and health care, low literacy levels, and numerous agricultural challenges are some of the main barriers that have stifled productivity and growth in the community.

To address the needs of the community, WE will work to construct high-quality school rooms that are safe and conducive to learning. WE will also support training programs with parents, government officials and community leaders to encourage educating all children and creating partnerships to ensure all students and teachers have the necessary resources for a high-quality education. These challenges are significant opportunities for key interventions that break down barriers to education for children and allow families to thrive as a whole.

In partnership with Enoosoito, WE will work with community leaders and local government to implement WE Villages, a holistic and sustainable international development program focused on empowering community members through targeted interventions in five Pillars: Education, Water, Health, Food and Opportunity.

Please join us in helping this remarkable community achieve their Educational Goals!
