LASHON ACADEMY, HERE WE COME!
Keshet Chaim's dance residency is taking place at Lashon Academy, a Hebrew Language Public Charter School. We need your help to make it a success!
From January to May, Keshet is teaching ongoing classes in Israeli folk dance to all 450 students at the school.
Our professional dancers will lead the students through the basics of circle dances, line dances, hand dances and many more.
At the end of the program the students will have a culminating performance and be joined by our company of resident dancers who will perform dances from our repertoire.
This program at Lashon began in 2014 with one class per week and has grown to 18 classes per week with every student participating,
The students will learn folk dance. But they will also learn more about Israel. They will learn about the different cultures that all came together in Israel. They will learn the backgrounds of different people through the dances. They will learn some Hebrew as it is used in teaching the dance classes. They will feel a connection with Israel.
