For my mitzvah project, I will bike a marathon in early-September to raise money for the Children's Inn at National Institutes of Health (NIH). The Children's Inn at NIH is a nonprofit that provides residential services and a wide range of programs to children, teens, and young adults with rare and serious diseases whose best hope for a diagnosis or treatment is an NIH clinical research study. Since I was in second grade and helped prepare and deliver boxes of gifts and activities for the children staying at the Inn, this has been a charity close to my heart. My fundraising bike ride is inspired by my Bar Mitzvah Torah portion discussing Moses' 40-year journey through the desert in search of the promised land for his descendents. I thought that if he could do that, I could take this journey to help sick children. If you would like to make a contribution to this fundraiser, please use this link. Thanks, and I hope to see you at my Bar Mitzvah on September 18th!
