I will be competing in Ironman Ireland in June 2019 as a member of Team Tillman to raise money for the Pat Tillman Foundation. The triathlon is being held along the east coast of County Cork, with a 2.4-mile swim, 112-mile bike, and 26.2-mile run. This Ironman will be my first one and the first one ever held in Ireland.
Team Tillman is a team of military and civilian athletes honoring Pat and keeping his passion and intensity alive while inspiring others to live up to their potential. The Pat Tillman Foundation's mission is to unite and empower remarkable military veterans and spouses as the next generation of public and private sector leaders committed to service beyond self through the Tillman Scholars program. Family and friends established the Pat Tillman Foundation following Pat’s death in April 2004 while he was serving with the 75th Ranger Regiment in Afghanistan.
I was humbled to receive a Tillman scholarship in 2018, and the foundation has helped hundreds of other veterans and spouses receive the education they need to fulfill their dreams and make an impact on the world around them. I am honored to use this race to honor Pat Tillman and support the Pat Tillman Foundation's mission.
