In July 2016, after having a black eye that would not heal, Ethan was diagnosed with Rhabdomyosarcoma of the optical orbit. He began 22 weeks of chemotherapy right away and did 28 rounds of Proton Radiation. During one of the very first hospital stays, when spirits were extremely low and a smile hadn't been seen in nearly a month, we had a knock at the door and on the other side was Anthony Rizzo, Mrs. Rizzo & Abby (ARFF amazing Executive Director). Anthony came and sat with Ethan and that began a wonderful relationship that gave us all smiles and supported us through out our 2 year battle.
After Ethan completed his first fight in December 2016, we learned he relapsed in March 2017 & the battle began again. During that time we made the decision to travel to NYC for second opinions and ultimately made the decision to go to Sloan Kettering for surgery that we hope will save Ethan‘s life. The Anthony Rizzo Family Foundation has supported us every step of the way. Their financial support made the nearly month long stay in NYC possible , and their emotional support had us having fun and smiling during the times we were not in the hospital.
This is our 3rd year raising money for the Anthony Rizzo Family Foundation Walkoff.
Our first year we raised just over $50,000, last year we raised just over $60,000 and hopefully we can do the same this year. Thank you for all of your support. Please come and walk with us this year & share with your friends to donate!

Last year’s event attracted close to 1500 participants. Anthony will be in attendance during the event. Net proceeds will benefit the Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital, the University of Miami Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center and direct grants to families battling cancer.

As part of the Walk we have FUNDRAISING INCENTIVES which will be given for reaching various fundraising levels. The Team that raises the most funds will be recognized during the opening ceremony and help us kick-off the walk. With your help, no family will ever have to choose between paying a bill and saving their child's life.
