This is our 5th Walk-Off for Cancer with the Anthony Rizzo Family Foundation. 2020 has been a year like no other. So many have been impacted by Covid-19, fundraising has taken a huge hit yet the need for assistance has increased significantly.
ARFF (the foundation and the Rizzo family) was introduced into our lives in 2016 when Ethan was diagnosed with Rhabdomyosarcoma of the optical orbit. Ethan completed treatment December 2016 only to relapse March 2017. The Rizzo Foundation didn't hesitate to reach out to us and ask us how they could help. They have consistently reached out to us and to so many families like us year after year.
In 2020 not only did ARFF provide funding to Lurie Children's Hospital & Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital (as well as others), their grants to pediatric cancer families to assist with bills, they also have provided meals and PPE to pediatric cancer families & hospital essential workers.
Covid has caused the major fundraisers to be canceled or altered to be held virtually this year. We understand that 2020 has been so challenging for so many. We thank you for every year you have continued to support ARFF on Ethan's behalf. In our 5 years of doing this we have raised over a quarter of a million dollars for the Anthony Rizzo Family Foundation for families like us and we could not have done it without all of you. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
As an organization who works closely with families battling cancer, we have seen first hand the impact COVID-19 has had on them. Our grant applications have increased 200%, families have been broken up due to having parents who are essential workers, parents have been laid off and have lost their health insurance and the increase cost of PPE has taken a large toll.
We have always viewed our Foundation as a family. Each and every one of the families we help are a part of our family and each supporter is a part of our family too!
Our Families now need our help more than ever before.
Please consider donating to my campaign- they are great incentive items too!
