The Governance Committee of the Irish American Hall of Fame hopes that you and your family are healthy and safe in the face of this pandemic.
This past weekend would have been the 10th Anniversary Gala for the Irish American Hall of Fame. But of course, we had to postpone the event and have rescheduled it for September 26, 2020.
The Irish American Hall of Fame is an integral part of the Irish American Heritage Center (IAHC) in Chicago and the Hall of Fame supports the Center. Our Gala is held every year in the beautiful Erin ballroom at the Heritage Center.
Unfortunately, to support efforts to help stop the further spread of COVID-19, the IAHC closed its doors on March 16th and will remain closed until it is safe for our members, staff, volunteers, and partners to return to our building.
With the Center's business halted, St. Patrick’s holiday celebrations cancelled, and our future events on hold for now, including the Hall of Fame Gala, the Irish American Heritage Center is in need. Even though the building is closed, fixed expenses remain.
In order to maintain basic functions into an unknown future, we need to raise at least $100,000. This need is critical and immediate, and we are reaching out to you as part of the Irish American Hall of Fame community for your help. Any contribution you make will have a direct impact on our effort to keep the mission of the Irish American Heritage Center alive and .
As a friend of the Irish American Hall of Fame or perhaps a past inductee or family member of an inductee or a guest at one or many of the Galas, I'm sure you understand the importance of the Irish American Heritage Center in promoting Irish culture. The success of the Center is vital to the success of the Irish American Hall of Fame.
We are tremendously grateful for your continued care and support, and for the many ways you show your dedication to our shared Irish culture and the Irish American Hall of Fame.
Until we meet again...
