About the video: Tolassa Elemaa is a client who was resettled by the IRC Dallas office, originally from Ethiopia. He was training to be a competitive runner when he was imprisoned for five years for criticizing the Ethiopian government. After being released he fled to Kenya with his wife Bikiltu. He later had his daughter Fenete and was invited to move to Dallas. In Dallas he met local runners and began to compete in local races. Tolassa and his family came to for the 2018 TCS New York City Marathon. It was Tolassa's first marathon, his time was 3:02:33.
