Invest in America Charitable Fund (IACF) believes that as we witness the catastrophic events affecting our distressed communities -- coronavirus, racial injustice, and the economic crises – we need to act fast in an unprecedented way to address the problem at its very core.
The first step is that we must reimage the way charitable giving is done today. Instead of donating to separate independent social causes, we believe donating to a coordinated group of local charities that support an adopted distressed community will provide a greater and longer lasting beneficial impact. We also believe donations need to be completely transparent through the entire gifting process, and that every dollar granted provides the maximum benefit to those in need. We think we have the right solution; however, we need your help. Please take a moment and learn more about IACF:
What is IACF?
Invest in America Charitable Fund (IACF) is the first “Charitable-Tech” Fund of its kind that provides donors with clear insight into the impact of their contributions to a single or coordinated group of local charities through a digital blockchain platform.
What is IACF's mission?
Invest in America Charitable Fund was founded on the belief that real change in our country must be driven by significant and impactful investments directly into our local communities.
This mission demands a complete fundamental change in the current way charitable gifts are distributed – focusing on one specific issue at a time. Our communities are in such dire need of large capital investments that the current process of taking operating and administrative costs of a charity off of the top, ultimately reduces the gifted funds before they reach the people or organizations for whom they are intended. This disruption of the charitable standard quo, along with thoughtful and impactful initiatives, can create a solid foundation on which true community success can be built.
Why is this important now?
Decades of economic inequality is the cornerstone of perpetuated judicial, educational, financial and healthcare injustices. IACF understands that the lack of capital investments, particularly in underserved communities of people of color, has become the new “ground zero” and our collective reinvestment in these neighborhoods will ultimately pay back in large dividends to our society, which ultimately benefits us all.
What makes IACF special?
Invest in America Charitable Fund (IACF) wants to facilitate a bold new initiative that changes the way we invest in our underserved urban and rural communities throughout the United States. Most national charities are powerful in what they do, and have made great strides for many causes, but in 2019, $427.71 billion dollars was donated to charities. Have we seen the real grass-root change to urban neighborhoods that has transformed people’s lives? Apparently, something needs to change. IACF believes that change begins in local communities where charitable gifts, resources and efforts should be coordinated to work together, creating a more powerful impact. By selecting a local community and surrounding charity group to work together, real changes within the neighborhood will materialize, ultimately creating change in the way people feel about themselves and their community.
How is IACF different than other charities?
IACF can realize this mission by utilizing our proprietary blockchain technology to create a powerful charity management ecosystem. This blockchain platform will allow the donor to select a local community and then facilitate the coordination of different types of local charities that can serve their educational, housing, food, healthcare, employment, and small business needs. Our IACF technology will provide the donor with complete transparency of how 100% of every dollar donated has been utilized by the charity group.
IACF can also take advantage of its Donor-advised fund status for the public at large, so that every day people can control annual grant selections to a particular charity group based on their performance reporting and evaluation. The control and transparency accessible to the donor and the cross collaboration and accountability provided by the local charity group will result in a more targeted way of giving with each dollar donated providing its maximum humanitarian impact.
What is the IACF blockchain?
IACF, offers a secure digital blockchain private network that provides donors with the ability to track every dollar granted. As part of the blockchain network, charities will in turn be able to best manage donated cashflow for capital spending efficiency. Charities that service the benevolent needs of distressed neighborhoods will be able to benefit from a targeted resource strategy that delivers coordinated aid to the community’s six major pillars of humanitarian support; affordable housing, healthcare, food, education, employment, and education.
What is an IACF donor-advised fund?
A donor-advised fund, or DAF, is a tax-favored charitable giving method that allows donors to make a contribution (i.e. cash, securities, precious metals, collectibles, etc.) into a personalized tax deferred account, receive an immediate tax deduction, while still in control of the charity selections and the annual gifts granted over time. Unlike forming a traditional private foundation, the day-to-day operations of the proposed DAF are administered directly by IACF. This allows donors to have the benefits of a private foundation, while saving administrative time and expense in functional duties of grant giving and performance evaluation.
What makes Invest in America Charitable Fund uniquely different than a standard donor advised fund begins with IACF’s advanced technology. The IACF donor will be able to select many targeted charities from a network database of profiled nonprofits. Donors will be able to track their donations and receive impact performance information from each of the charities selected. IACF will also pre-select a recommended group or basket of charities that either have complimentary missions and/or are focused in a geographical community of the donor’s choice. Finally, IACF provides complete transparency and accountability throughout the grant progress. This will provide a greater understanding of the humanitarian impact with each dollar granted.
How will IACF use my donation?
Phase One is for IACF to directly raise $750,000. The charitable donations will be used to initiate the outreach and onboarding process of local charities onto the blockchain system located throughout the US; increase public awareness of IACF through marketing and social media efforts; initiate the DAF program and support operational staff.
Phase Two is for IACF to ramp up its DAF program (along with corporate matching efforts) to create a perpetual stream of donations that will flow to all the local charity groups within each distressed community.
Phase Three is to broaden collaboration efforts with city and state governments as well as the private sector to encourage small business growth and community business development.
Is my donation Tax deductable?
If you are itemizing your deductions, the adjusted gross income (AGI) limit for cash contributions was increased for individual donors. For cash contributions made in 2020, you can now elect to deduct up to 100 percent of your AGI (increased from 60 percent).
If you are NOT itemizing your deductions, the CARES Act allows for an additional, “above-the-line” deduction for charitable gifts made in cash of up to $300. If you are not itemizing on your 2020 taxes, you can claim this new deduction.
Why do you need my support?
IACF’s core foundation is the passion and commitment of people like you who truly want to make an impactful difference in our country. Powered by our innovative technology and disruptive ideas, together we can create a new way of uplifting and empowering communities. However, we cannot do this without your support. Please help to invest in reversing the many years of human disparity of people in underserved neighborhoods and develop thriving, prosperous communities that contribute to the greater whole of who we are as a country.
