Today is International Women's Day. We're launching an initiative to support refugee women who have suffered gender-based violence and abuse in refugee camps and urban settlements. Our teams have worked with refugees for nearly two decades. Many of the women we serve lack access to adequate shelter, food and basic health care. They're forced to work in dangerous conditions and are subjected to harassment, sexual exploitation and abuse. This project will help them gain independence by supporting livelihood projects that are empowering, community-based and safe. It will ensure that no woman in our project has to trade her dignity for income. It will ensure that the MeToo movement includes HerToo.
