Our Story and Mission

International Stars Baseball, is a Michigan 501(c)(3) non-profit providing opportunities to youth, from underserved areas of Detroit, access to safe, fun, and  free baseball programming, as well as mentoring, life-skills, college placement and career development services.

We have been serving the Detroit community in these efforts since 2012, by providing kids with an alternative physical activity that promotes healthy living, education, and social skills development – like teamwork, leadership, communication, responsibility and overcoming hardships. Our programming includes free winter baseball skills clinics from December through March, open to all ages and skill levels, and providing opportunities to play in various recreational baseball leagues throughout the Spring, Summer, and Fall for players ages 6-16

Since our inception we have provided safe and fun sports programming to over 500 Detroit youth, mostly coming from disadvantaged backgrounds. We also have taken a modified version of tee-ball into various Detroit elementary schools, in hopes of introducing boys and girls to an additional option of after-school and summer activities.

Our mission is to develop a year-round indoor baseball-training center that includes various size baseball and softball fields adjacent to the complex. The International Stars Baseball Academy of Detroit will include free, year-round baseball training including but not limited to - private, group, and team instruction; winter and summer camps/clinics, available to all boys and girls, of all skill levels, ages 6 to 18. The Academy will provide a safe environment with free after-school tutoring, mentoring programs, social work services, college counseling, career development, with an emphasis on character development.
