American Red Cross disaster workers are on the ground there, providing comfort and support to people impacted by this powerful storm. · Experts report this tornado is the deadliest to hit Tennessee since 2011. · The Red Cross has six open shelters where more than 105 people have spent the night. As people begin to clean up their homes and cope with power outages, Red Cross emergency vehicles are delivering meals throughout the hardest hit communities. So far, the Red Cross and partners have provided nearly 5,000 meals and snacks. Relief supplies like shovels, rakes, trash bags, work gloves and tarps are also being handed out to help people clean up their neighborhoods. Over the coming days, the Red Cross will continue working with local and state officials to determine what additional help is needed.
