Seven days a week, at 3 pm, the staff at Buklod Kalinga is hard at work making a huge vat of soup with lots of vegetables, as the 300 residents of a poor community in Paranaque City, Philippines await dinner.
The pickup truck transporting the soup arrives in the middle of the small, impoverished town. Families bring their Tupperware-like containers to fill them with this nutritious feast, which helps keep their family well-fed and healthy.
Buklod Kalinga is a children’s home to 50 kids and operates a school for 250 disadvantaged kids, mostly girls.
Many residents, including orphan street kids migrated from the Visayas to this town when a 2013 typhoon destroyed their homes and villages.
"Together We Can Change the World “ is proud to be part of this feeding program and to help educate these children to break the cycle of poverty.
To honor International Day of the Girl on October 11, 2020, we would love you to join us in raising $5000 to provide learning materials and food for these deserving families and children.
