Hi there and welcome to my fundraising page for InTandem!!
Most of you may know how much I love being part of Intandem Bike.org. I have been involved with this amazing organization since 2017 and it has been one of the best blessings of my life. It is the organization that aligns the 2 best things I love to do, cycling and volunteering. And along this fun journey, i met impressive people with disabilities that challenges and inspires me every day, whom I can now proudly call, friends.
InTandem is a 501c3 not-for-profit organization whose mission is to provide tandem cycling programs to people who are blind, have low vision, or cannot ride independently due to other disabilities. InTandem allows people to meet and share your joy of cycling with people who might otherwise be stuck on the sidelines.
On a chilly Saturday morning of 02/11/17 , when I first joined InTandem, completed my Captain training and biked with my first blind Stoker............I left Central park both inspired and needed. As my Stoker said, “We are very grateful for Captains like you. We would have been unable to ride a bike and enjoy this ride in Central Park on our own. I hope you will come back. We need captains like you.” And since then, I’ve been hooked 😬
I volunteer as a Captain, the sighted cyclist riding a tandem bike, infront of an STOKER, who are people with disabilities who cannot ride independently on single bikes. While most of our Stokers are blind or have low vision, some members may have balance, social, or other disability-related concerns that make it difficult or dangerous for them to ride single bicycles.
This is InTandem's biggest fundraiser of the year, and your donation to my team will go directly to funding their program- which are totally free for all riders!! This would be my 3rd year riding with InTandem Team for the TD 5 Boro Bike Tour!!!
So again, i ask for your help, your donations, so I can also financially help Intandem Bike.org continue their amazing program. InTandem is a very “young” organization and need as much help as we can to keep this program sustainable. Please DONATE.
Thank you so much for supporting me, and for supporting InTandem!!
