Old Friends Club provides social programs for those living with dementia, and respite for their caregivers. Started in 2015, we have 4 locations in western WA: Carnation, Kirkland, Sammamish, and Bellevue. The need for our services is huge, but it takes money for us to expand, hire the right people, and find people who need our help. We currently serve about 40 families. There are an estimated 110,000 people living with dementia in Washington State today. Each of our Programs runs 2 or 3 days a week, and about 5 hours a day. Members engage in activites ( music, games, puzzles, and much more!), have lunch, and make new friends. Their caregivers get some time off from the difficult task of caring for someone with dementia. The money will allow us to hire people to fill critical roles, so we can add more Programs.
