My name is Precious Grass I am a mature student at Fanshawe College and mother of 5 beautiful children.
I graduated from the Early Childhood Education program at Fanshawe College in June of 2019. I currently am in my first semester, second term in the Autism Behavioural Science program. Right now I am in placement applying strategies I have learned my first semester.
For second semester's placement I am being given an opportunity to go to Indonesia to teach Applied Behavoir Analysis. A learning strategy that supports those with Autism. These include visual strageties such as the use of PEC'S and visual schedules, Pictorial Task Analysis and Cue Card Tasks. I will apply my knowledge in first-then strategies as will. I will also apply my knowledge of IBI which is a strategy within ABA that helps those with Autism learn new skills in an controlled environment.
Going to Indonesia and supporting others with Autism in a part of the country that doesn't normally recieve support will be crucially beneficial to those needing support.
Flight leaves Feb 2nd 2020 for two days of training in New York then we fly to Indonesia and return Feb 22nd 2020.
Donating would allow me to have help with flights, lodging and food while I am in Indonesia.
This is a once in a lifetime opportunity and I am trying my best to make it.
The Global Autism Project is a now a global movement of passionate, dedicated individuals coming together to provide lasting, meaningful change for communities around the world. It’s an international network of people who not only care for but are equipped to teach people with autism. We’re empowering a generation to understand and accept autism and it’s exciting!
There are 70 million people in the world with autism. 85% of them live in developing countries. We have a ways to go!
Please be advised that the Global Autism Project (whose team I will be going with and learn so much more from in supporting others) is an American Non-Profit and all donations will be converted to American money. Please be aware of the conversion when donating. Sorry for the inconvience, but American money is needed for this trip.
Thank you for reading this and your support to make a dream of mine reality. I cannot wait to make a difference in this world!
