International Medical Outreach (IMO) strives to deliver the opportunity for students to expand their knowledge and cultural awareness. Through our mission, we hope to provide life-altering experiences and to make a positive impact on the impoverished and underserved areas of the world where medical care is scarce or nonexistent.
Four times a year, our members have the opportunity to serve as part of a team on medical volunteer trips to various countries where we have fortunately witnessed positive change on numerous accounts. On these trips, we are able to provide free medical care through the setup of clinics and pharmacies, aid in caring for children in orphanages, run donation drives, and develop presentations on health education to address the needs of the community.
This March, our team will travel to Gujarat, India where we will have the opportunity to volunteer with Mohan Dayal Hospital, an organization that is funded by donations in order to provide free healthcare to all patients. In addition to the hospital, our members will be visiting and volunteering at a school for children with disabilities. All proceeds from this fundraiser will be used to purchase medical supplies for the hospital such as stethoscopes, blood pressure cuffs, IV bags, scrubs, surgical masks, medical gloves, etc. as well as school supplies, games, and toys for the kids at the school. Any donation is greatly appreciated!
