Hosted by Welcome to Chinatown + participating Chinatown businesses
We’re back with an autumn edition of In The Mood for Food Chinatown block walk! In The Mood for Food takes you along the foodie’s footpath from the eyes of a resident. We’re re-imagining the lively experience of eating our way through a night market, the socially-distanced way.
Through small bites from local businesses, and stops to witness the spirit that makes Chinatown extraordinary, this block walk is a way for your crew to taste the town, while supporting small businesses and bringing the spirit and unique energy back to Chinatown.
Chinatown needs our love more than ever. We’re here to say, Chinatown will always be open for business. Thank you for supporting Chinatown, we hope you enjoy your day around this historic, vibrant and delicious neighborhood. Stay safe, chi fan ba! 吃饭吧.

How it works
On the day of the event, pick up your stamp map anytime during your chosen time frame, at Hester Street Fair. You will use this map to redeem dishes at each restaurant. At each stop:
-Face covering must be worn.
-Stand in the normal line.
-Practice social distancing and keep your mask on while waiting for your turn.
-Let the business know you are here for the In The Mood for Food event OR find the In The Mood for Food sign, and present your stamp map to redeem item.
-Business will stamp your map to mark redemption.
-Choose your own pace, path and adventure! Grab everything at once to enjoy in a park, and walk it off after. Or, go on a stroll between each meal. Dishes can be redeemed in any order, at any time in your chosen time frame. So choose a path that works for you.
-Is the line a bit long? Hop to the next spot and come back later. Or go check out one of our points of interest!
-In between food stops, explore and move around the neighborhood while practicing safe social distancing. We will be sharing tips on favorite local stops, murals and photo spots around town!
-An appetite, and a smile: We have rounded up dishes from some favorite local spots in the neighborhood. Enjoy, fill up and remember to treat everyone with patience and kindness.
-Tips: Please remember to support Chinatown small businesses and the people that keep them running!
-Help us reduce waste: Feel free to bring your own utensils, straws and bags to help us cut back on single-use plastic! Getting full? Take the rest home to enjoy later! Help us reduce waste by bringing your own tupperware or sealable container for leftovers.
-Spread the word: Share photos of your favorite stops! Tag @welcome.to.chinatown, #welcometochinatown, and check out our map for restaurants’ social handles.
Things to Remember
