In memory of Robert Edwin Reich
MARCH 4, 1932 – JUNE 24, 2019
Robert Edwin (Bob) Reich of Deerfield Beach, Florida, passed away at age 87. Oldest of three children of Oswald and Helen Reich, as a young man in the 1950s Bob served in the U.S. Army in Germany during the Korean War. A longtime resident of Bellport, NY, he had multiple careers: he was an independent insurance broker, he worked for the IRS, and later, he worked for Suffolk County preparing real estate parcels for auction. Upon retirement in 2006, Bob and his wife, Marilyn relocated to Florida.
Known for his outgoing personality and often colorful storytelling, Bob will be greatly missed by his many friends and the family he leaves behind: his wife of 39 years, Marilyn and siblings William D. Reich and Nancy Strano of East Patchogue and Deerfield Beach; three children from his first marriage: Cheryl and Robert Reich, and Lisa Comanda, seven grandchildren: Danielle Gonnelli, Samantha, Robert, and Michael Reich, Gabrielle and Drew Comanda, and Lena Mandell, and two great-granddaughters, twins Abigail and Madeline Gonnelli; three stepchildren: Roger and Michael Kiely, Kathleen Kiely-Geiger, and seven grandchildren: Philip, Laura, Ashley, and Shannon Kiely, Scott and Renee Kelley, and Matthew Geiger.
A memorial service will be held in Deerfield Beach, Florida at the end of July. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be made to Children of Bellevue.
For 70 years, Children of Bellevue has initiated, funded, and developed special programs and acted as an advocate for children and their families within New York City Health + Hospitals/Bellevue.
