Secondhand Hounds has brought many a good boy and girl into my life, through adopting, fostering, and foster failing. I am raising money in memory of 2 sweet souls that I have come into my life and left too soon.
Super Nova was rescued for a puppy mill at the age of 5. She had given birth to litters of puppies in that time and came to my home as a foster terrified of the world. With time, she became more confident (with the help of her brothers Tuffy and Hobbes) and I soon foster failed on her. We had just shy of 4 years together before she unfortunately developed cancer from having all those puppies and went to the rainbow bridge in 2019.
Barkley, aka Barkaroni, was a shut down senior guy found abandoned in a trailer park in KY. SHH brought him up to MN where I fostered him for about 6 months. In that time, he broke out of his shell, became a sassy little toothless wonder, and won the hearts of his forever family. He had big adventures and even moved across the country! Barkley had several wonderful years with his forever family before he also developed cancer. He crossed the rainbow bridge in 2018. I'm sure he was there to greet Nova.
Thank you for taking the time to read about my two favorite doggos that left us too soon.
