Our father, Joseph Ozhuthual, was a man of great faith who devoted his entire life to helping others. He dedicated over 20 years flourishing as a Christian brother in his home country of India. This opportunity allowed him to travel throughout the country, visiting various states in order to service multiple communities in need.
When he came to the United States in 1977, he continued what came so natural to him. He lived a purpose driven life always giving to those in need, while counseling those struggling with their own personal issues. He was an active member of both his church as well as various cultural communities in Westchester County. He lived a blessed life of eighty-five years and we are very thankful for that.
In 2015, Dad was diagnosed with Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL). And, irrespective of his illness, he was full of life and joy. He was constantly surrounded by our mom, his three sons, seven grandchildren and close friends and family. Dad possessed an authenticity that was unparalleled; he had a radiant smile, pure heart and a beautiful soul. Sadly, this past Friday, February 26, 2021, he passed away due to complications of CLL, exacerbated by the COVID-19 virus. We will all miss him dearly, but his memory will continue to live on, within us.
In lieu of flowers, we kindly ask our family and friends to help continue his legacy of giving back to the community by donating directly to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
