It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Carrie Lynn Harpenau, 57 of Santa Rosa Beach, Florida, after a long battle with mental illness. Carrie is survived by her four children who meant the world to her, Aubrey Harpenau, Zetta Konerding, Anna Orlowski, and Zachary Harpenau; three grandchildren who knew her as Grandma Yaya, Oscar Orlowski, Leo Konerding and Baby Konerding; her Mom, DJ, and Mr. Wonderful (Dad), Lew Taylor; her loving sisters, Lisetta Whitworth, Lenna Chapman, and Danielle Fagan; and a whole slew of nieces and nephews (including the four legged kind).Carrie was as unique a person as they get. From cooking to reading to her personal style, she’s one to remember. She could whip up a delicious meal from whatever you had lying around. Carrie always had a deep love for the arts. She was an artist in every facet of her life, from producing beautiful, thoughtful works of art for her family and friends to dancing her heart out. Whether you needed a new book, plant supplement, or something to cure your itchy skin, Carrie had suggestions at the ready. While she brought so much light into this world, she also suffered from darkness that eventually consumed her. In lieu of funeral services, and to help others struggling with these all too common mental health issues, we are asking for donations for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention in Carrie’s memory.
