My friend, Bianca, passed away October 30, 2018. She had complications from rejection after a second double lung transplant that she needed due to Nonspecific Interstitial Pneumonitis. We bonded over our health, music, movies, writing, and life experiences. She was the most beautiful person, full of light and love, always making people smile and laugh. She was so much more hopeful and positive than I could comprehend.
Bianca's dream was to be a child life specialist because she loved kids. Now, even though she passed away we can continue her legacy and help bring happiness to other kids whose lives have been affected by medical illness. There are many ways we could help kids, one of these ways is by supporting Musicians on Call. Musicians on Call supports families whose lives are affected by illness by bringing music to their bedside, whether it's through live performances from their favourite singers, helping patients write and record their own music, or providing musical equipment to aid in their healing.
I love Musicians on Call because the way I met Bianca was through one of our favourite singers, Tori Kelly, going to visit her in the hospital. Even though her visit was not through Musicians on Call, I'd still love to support their mission and give other kids the same experience.
