This fundraiser is in honor of my brother, Ajay Vasudevan. Ajay was diagnosed with gastric cancer a little over a year ago. Ajay fought bravely for a year, never losing his sense of humor, his dignity or his spirit. Ajay was selfless - always more concerned with others' wellbeing - and he never once complained about his illness. He continued to work till August 1, 2019.
Ajay lost his battle with cancer on August 10th, 2019.
Ajay leaves a huge hole in our lives that will never be filled. He was the best of all of us. He was our inspiration, our beacon and a towering example of how to live life to the fullest.
Ajay felt a deep attachment to Wentworth Douglass Hospital dating back to his summers as a junior volunteer. Ajay even raised a huge sum of money in just 3 weeks for last year's Seacoast Cancer 5K. We, his family, are grateful to the hospital and to the doctors and nurses for their empathetic and compassionate care of Ajay.
This year, we are raising money in honor of the brother, son, and friend whom we all love deeply, and for the hospital that he loved so much.
