UPDATE: This campaign has ended. Thank you so much to everyone who has donated!
As the youngest granddaughter of the wonderful, Eunice Elizabeth Dilworth, I got to experience her light first-hand. A hardworking woman, who stood for love and justice. She devoted her life to caring for others and raising five young children on her own after her husband passed away from pancreatic cancer. In 2012, my grandmother was diagnosed with breast cancer and immediately underwent treatment. I accompanied her alongside my mother to chemotherapy and radiation appointments frequently. On the day of her surgery to remove the lump in her breasts, I was there. I witnessed my grandmother survive breast cancer and come out a champion. We thought her battle with cancer ended there, but unfortunately in 2019, my grandmother was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia as a result of the treatments from her breast cancer. After another long battle, on July 3rd 2020, my grandmother passed away. My grandmother has influenced and inspired me in everything I do. Therefore, in honor of her, I have partnered with the Leukemia and Lymphoma society in order to fight against blood and bone cancers. Cancer knows no bounds and we all can be impacted by it, therefore, I believe it is our duty to do our best to combat against this disease. With love, research, and perseverance a cure is possible.
