In Oct. of 2017, I got to take part in an MCC Learning Tour to Haiti. We were the recipients of such gracious hospitality, met incredible people doing important work, and got to learn more about Haitian history and culture. Two projects we visited and learned about include the latrine project and SOFA. This particular latrine project has brought the cases of cholera in a community in the mountains to zero. SOFA was begun over 30 yrs ago by Evelyn, a courageous and strong Haitian woman and her team, to advocate for and walk alongside women who are survivors of sexual and economic violence. I would be grateful to you for any financial gifts to go to support these two projects.
If you would like to be receipted for your donation, you can also donate at https://donate.mcc.org/project and designate it’s for Haiti in the title and describe the project as “Haiti Latrines—Water” and “Hurricane Matthew Haiti”. These are the fund names to contribute to for the Latrine Project and SOFA.
