Many of you know Briana/Bri/Breezy as a beautiful, witty, clever, athletic, strong, loyal and free spirited individual who loved her family and friends fiercely. She was known for never shying away from cracking a joke (no matter how inappropriate it was). She was also the most caring Auntie to her two nieces and loved taking trips with her family.
After graduating high school in San Diego, she received a scholarship to play softball at James Madison University. As a Duke, she tallied a number of program records both on offense and defense, as a pitcher. If you would ask her, she would tell you she could play every position better than anyone on the team. In the fall of her senior year (2005), she was diagnosed with Lupus.
After she graduated, she moved back home to San Diego to teach and coach high school softball with her father. Sadly, after fighting Lupus for almost 15 years, she lost her battle on June 9th, 2020.
Let us celebrate the life of this strong and feisty woman. In lieu of flowers please make donations in honor of Briana to the Lupus Foundation of America.
