We started helping this lady TNR her neighborhood this weekend. Initially, we just went out to grab the very pregnant ones on Sunday but one thing led to another and were just gonna trap the whole colony and Get. It. Done. Because it needs to. Litters of kittens are being born and an already huge colony is going to become massive readable quick.
Normally, the spay and neuter appointments are $25.00 a pop through ADLA, but ADLA is booking months out and this situation is a bit dire. There are a lot of cats and they need to be fixed ASAP.
We were EXTREMELY lucky to get in at a clinic Tuesday. For feral cats-- the neuters are $45 and the spays are $85. I set our goal at $910. We already have 10 cats trapped and ready to go and we're going back out tonight to go ham on the rest.
I took the average cost of a spay and neuter and multiplied it by 14 because that was our OG goal to catch. Any help is appreciated. It's ALOT of money but no where near the amount it would cost to vet the hundreds of kittens that would be born out there by the end of the year.
If we somehow raise more, I'd love to buy the rescue a few more traps. It's been very hard to mass trap with just 4 traps!!!
