Downtown Languages needs your help to ensure that our students continue their English Language Literacy, Computer, and Citizenship programs during this time when all classes are being offered online only. We also want to give parents the tools they need to be able to assist their children with their online school curriculum. In a time when the primary way to attend classes, access resources, and find connection is via the computer, those in our immigrant community who don't have a computer get left behind.
To increase access for these families, we are creating a Computer Lending Library!
Funds raised will be used to purchase up to:
* 20 Chromebooks with internal webcam and charging cords
* 20 headsets with mics
* 20 computer carrying bags
* WiFi hotspots
* 1 locking computer cart to store laptops in our office
* Technology support
With classes beginning September 21st, we aim to build our lending library immediately! Thank you for helping us meet this need and ensuring that all learners have access to the tools needed to participate in distance learning. Latino and immigrant students need this support more than ever; with your help we can create more equitable access to education and other resources. Thank you!
