Creating Equality in Tech for Black Boys
With the COVID-19 nationwide school closures, it's going to be black boys who are most affected. The time is now to "Create a new model where boys can harness their unique innate abilities" outside of the traditional school system.
Black males make up less than 5% of the high tech workforce. Unless we take a stand now to create opportunities for them now the negative impacts will affect us all.
Black boys from low performing and disadvantaged school districts are not being included in high tech education and increasingly face racial discrimination and inequality for education resources in this area.
This 3-month program costs $399 per child and we would like to impact 10,000 boys in2020.
Through this campaign, your contribution will have a direct impact on thousands of who will be able to gain a basic level of proficiency and certificate in Computer Science.
The boys in our programs will learn:
How Computers Work
Entry Level Game Programming/Coding
How the Internet Works
Entry Level Website Development
and how to turn those skillsets into dollars.
We have an opportunity and obligation to change the narrative for the next generation of black boys.
