Hi! I'm running the 2019 Illinois Marathon in Champaign-Urbana, IL to raise funds for the Immigration Project, the only nonprofit providing affordable, high-quality legal aid to immigrants in Champaign county. Here, demand for legal services far exceeds the Immigration Project's capacity. I hope you'll join me in raising $2,620.00 (or $100 per mile) for the IP to help support their crucial work.
To say a bit more, I'm an assistant professor of Asian American studies at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, where I research and teach on issues of race, immigration, labor, and imprisonment. I'm the daughter of immigrants. I work with the group Sanctuary of the People UIUC, to build spaces and practices of a sanctuary campus.
