Last year thousands of people came together to illuminate The Pink Triangle–the beloved symbol of inclusion and remembrance that for the past 25 years Patrick Carney and hundreds of volunteers have been creating out of pink canvas on Twin Peaks over Pride Weekend.
On June 27 last year, 2700 pink LEDs flickered to life above San Francisco raising a beacon of hope visible across the city and the East Bay.
The lighted installation, which builds upon Patrick Carney's quarter-century of leadership, was led by Illuminate (the organization behind The Bay Lights on the Bay Bridge). On that night, Mayor London Breed flipped the "on" switch, and the illuminated version of The Pink Triangle drew immediate rave reviews.
Now a new effort is underway to light the triangle from June 1 to June 30, vibrantly signaling the arrival of Pride Month.
We invite you to participate in this historic effort. Your gift, no matter the size, brings us closer to that magical moment when we can all come together and observe the Grand Lighting of this beloved symbol when darkness falls on June 1.
All donations are 100% tax-deductible.
