The Ignatian Volunteer Corps (IVC) provides mature individuals the opportunity to serve the needs of people who are poor, to work for a more just society, and to grow deeper in their faith by reflecting and praying in the Ignatian tradition.
IVC mobilizes the enormous gifts of people who have embarked on the adventure of their encore act by leveraging the fullest fruits of the first half of their lives - education, skills, profound experience, and wisdom, into service.
In response to the current health crisis, we have asked our service partners to draw on the richness of our corps community by assigning projects that can be done from home. IVC enables our social service partners to be at full capacity, especially for people experiencing need from the impact of this pandemic. We will not abandon the people on the margins and in the shadows.
Right now, ordinary life in America is on hold. In appropriate caution, we have canceled or postponed fundraising events. Although we hope to reschedule many after this public health emergency has passed, the fact is that without that philanthropic revenue over the next few month, we face a serious budget shortfall.
We need to raise $100,000 in the next 5 weeks and stabilize our cash flow.
Please consider helping us to overcome our challenge by sending a special gift today that mathces or exceeds that amount. A gift to IVC now will help provide relief to over 600 charities and nonprofits across the country utilizing IVC service corps members to weather this crisis.
