Jan 2017 while I was 2 days post-op from my abdominal cancer surgery and laying at Hunstman Cancer Center, I decided I am not going to let the fear of recurrence of cancer dictate my life and my future. I made a goal to get back on my bike for a race in 5 months and start climbing more summits both in Idaho and Nepal. This gave birth to our annual adventure #Climb4Humanity. Last year the team attempted Island Peak in Nepal to benefit PTSD Veterans Athlete.
This year our goal is to summit Mera Peak along with some amazing climbers making our team "Ice Spiders". These amazing individuals are coming from different parts of the world to achieve this goal.
We are planning to reach 21,247 ft to summit of Mera Peak and raise $1 for every foot we climb. Our efforts will support "Pehla Qadam" to help kids with club foot in Pakistan as detailed in our introduction. We will make a live post from the summit of 21,247 ft to thank all our supporters and donors.
With deep gratitude,
Fahim Rahim, MD FASN
