For the past five years, I've used running to heal and strengthen me emotionally, physically, and mentally. On the days when I've felt my lowest, running has been my saving grace. Now I want to help it be theirs.
I will be running the St. George Marathon in Utah on October 5th, 2019. I want to run to raise both awareness and money for the HUMAN BEINGS that have been unlawfully compounded and imprisoned at the various CONCENTRATION CAMPS in the United States. I'm running to help those seeking asylum. Any donation, big or small, is appreciated, and any donation, big or small, MATTERS. this money will be donated to the INTERNATIONAL RESCUE COMMITTEE (IRC), and I will link their website below. Every year, thousands of individuals come to the United States in search of safety and freedom for themselves and their families. Although free from the persecution they may have faced back home, many are now confronted with structural barriers and issues of basic rights, such as housing and food insecurity. Here at the International Rescue Committee we are determined to help those seeking asylum in taking the steps to becoming full members of society. This includes resources for food, housing, safety, employment, and connections to legal services. This can start with you. By simply donating enough for a family’s hot meal or up to a month’s stay in an Airbnb you can help build these individuals’ lives in the United States. By working together, we can build this community and aid those in need. There will be a donate button on my page so we can make a diffrence together! There are incredible people in my life who are at risk of being caged, and my heart and prayers go out to the families already affected by this ongoing tragedy. Lets be on the right side of history, lets make a difference!
