The Facts: In 2018 there were about 250 heat-related deaths in Arizona (Arizona Department of Health, 2018). What's worse is that many individuals experiencing homelessness cannot find proper shelter during heat waves. In addition, complications brought about as a result of COVID-19 has reduced supportive services many homeless are receiving.
Our Plan: Summers in the Phoenix Metro are brutal with temperatures easily rising above 100 degrees. During the current pandemic, the East Valley Dream Center will provide those experiencing homelessness with free essential resources including insulated water bottles to prevent dehydration and death.
Your Part: Not everyone can enjoy a cold glass of water on a hot summer day. This is your opportunity to give that to someone else who can't afford one. In addition, 100% every dollar goes directly to each person we serve.
