1 in 4 children do not know where their next meal will come from. Due to the pandemic, more than 54 million people in America struggle with hunger. More and more people are being driven into poverty and the hunger and illiteracy crises are growing exponentially.
Hunger Fight's mission is to end hunger and illiteracy through the provision of nutritious meals to children, seniors and families in need and age-appropriate books to preschoolers by engaging communities and mobilizing partners. We do so by providing shelf-stable, nutritious weekend meals (not perishable, empty calories) through our Feed the Backpacks, Champion the Cause, Salvation Army Disaster Relief and FEMA programs; as well as books to preschool children through our Feed the Need to Read program.
In order to keep up with the growing demand and help as many people as possible, we need to expand. We have launched our capital campaign in hopes to raise enough money to put a down payment on a new facility, so we can pack and distribute more meals and books.
To date, we have packed over 10.4 million meals and delivered over 116,000 books.
Any and every donation helps! However much you can find it in your heart to contribute will help us to continue our legacy of providing, "Food for their Bellies and Books for their Brains"
Whether you are able to contribute or not, sharing this campaign is also valuable. Please share, share, share!
