At Humble Design, we believe in restoring dignity to every family that has suffered through homelessness.
We use donated household goods to transform empty houses for the recently homeless into warm, welcoming and uplifting homes that lead to successful lives.
Since 2009, we have furnished over 900 homes for families in Detroit transitioning out of homeless and abuse shelters. 99% of the families serviced by Humble Design stay in their homes. Sadly, 50% of families not serviced by us return to homelessness after receiving housing.
So what's our secret sauce? Dignity. We meet with our clients. Ask them what they want their home to look like, what their favorite colors are, what characters their kids like. We get to know them and we listen. What's different about a Humble home? It's personalized to each family. The kids' names are above their beds. Mom's favorite color is highlighted throughout the house. But most importantly, we transform a once bare space into a warm, inviting and dignified place they can truly call home.
