Humans in Harmony's Song Sharing Celebration

Humans in Harmony is having a song sharing celebration that wraps up the year's activities on July 30, 2019. We are working to put together an album of songs from the event and the year, and are excited to launch this album release campaign, running from now until the week of July 30. Once we end the campaign, we'll send you an mp3 downloadable album of the songs we have created with community members. Thank you for your support!

Story

Update: We have recently finished recording the songs for our album! Check out these short clips of some of the songs below:

Humans in Harmony fosters social connection through collaborative songwriting and storytelling.

Our activities are made possible by people who care about the creative, healing, and life-giving potential of the arts for everyone - people like you. We believe that anyone can create a song and everyone has a story to tell. We also believe that music-making helps people engage in what they love and care about, and that songwriting and storytelling are ways to imagine a better world.

If we reach our goal, we'll be able to take a big step forward in supporting a part-time staff-member as Program Director of a national board of student chapters. This will allow us to develop and expand activities across schools and community organizations.

This past year and summer, students from multiple schools wrote personalized, original songs with community members from local social service organizations. These included nursing homes, organizations serving those with disabilities, at-risk youth centers, and cancer support groups. We launched a Music Corps program partnering with 3 schools in the NJ/NY region and 5 community organizations, and developed a set of resources and curricula so that anyone interested can get involved. Furthermore, over these two years since our founding, we have built a student community across many schools, including Columbia University Medical Center, New York University, Princeton University, Einstein College of Medicine, and Manhattan School of Music.

We believe that everyone should be able to enjoy and participate in the arts. We maintain all of our resources (e.g., songwriting guide, how-to-videos, worksheets) freely accessible to anyone online, and all of our songs are streamable.

We are a grassroots, community-driven organization, and even $1 or a note of support means a lot. Moreover, we would love to have you join us in getting to the heart of what music is about. At the end of this campaign, we are excited to send all donors a downloadable MP3 album of the songs created this year. As a small token of our appreciation, this album will be full of the collaborative, thoughtful compositions we've created throughout the year. We hope you enjoy it, and thank you for donating!
