This year marks the 40th anniversary of the Humane Society of the New Braunfels Area caring for the animals of our community. There have been many ups and downs along the way between both the "old shelter" on Kuehler Rd to the new facility here on Morningside. We've worked with countless animal control organizations and numerous rescue partners. We want to keep serving you and being the best shelter that we can be.
Currently we're the only animal welfare group in the city, and function as an open intake facility as the official holding facility for the City of New Braunfels, Comal County, and the City of Marion Animal Controls. While those organizations do pay the shelter for a small amount, they only cover the stray hold period for the animals they bring in, approximately 3 days of care. Preparing the animals for adoption, providing education to the community, renting out traps, enriching the animals, and all of the other things our shelter does is funded by citizens like you!
We want to serve our community for years to come and continue to strive to be the shelter New Braunfels deserves. We are a small shelter with a big heart and we want your help to be the best we can be for you.
