Help us by donating to an organization near and dear to our family's hearts: Hospitality Homes. Over the past five years, Hospitality Homes, a nonprofit organization that provides housing for patients coming from outside Boston, has overwhelmingly impacted us. This organization and our host family (who we have stayed with while Oliver was hospitalized at Boston Childrens Hospital in addition to every follow up visit - totaling over 180 days and saving us more than $36,000 that we would have spent on hotel costs alone!) have made Boston a home away from home.
Hospitality Homes is sponsoring a “virtual race” to raise support, and as many of you know, I love running. It has become a way for me to process this journey that we have walked with Oliver. I have decided to run the race, and raise support for this amazing organization while doing so. 100% of my support goes to Hospitality Homes.
When families are going through a crisis in their lives and they want to travel from outside the Boston area, I want to make sure I have done everything possible to make it happen. Life doesn’t stop happening to people. Families will grapple with a loved one's new cancer diagnosis and treatment; others will welcome new babies who need of major surgeries and others may need organ donations. Unfortunately, these medical events do not and will not stop, so please help me support an organization that gives these patients a place to call home while receiving the care they need while in Boston.
