Update: We have now partnered with the Dennis W. Zilinski II Memorial Foundation. What does this mean to you and us at SFCWR????? They will MATCH any size donation up to...... drum roll please....... $7,500!!!! So please take a few minutes and finish reading through this campaign and learn how your support will allow us to empower more and more Veterans.
We are raising funds to sponsor Service Dogs for every Veteran that needs one. Every day we are losing more than 20 Veterans to suicide. Every time a Veteran commits suicide approximately 135 people are impacted by this event. Currently less than 1% of the US population actively serves in the military. EVERY year we will lose more than 8,000 Veterans to suicide.
Co-Founder and President, SFC William "Will" Rommel is a recipient of a Service Dog. The day he met his battle buddy, Rio, TWO lives were saved that day, Will's and Rio's. Rio was pulled from an animal shelter, trained and then paired with Will.
We are passionate and determined to make sure every struggling Veteran knows there are resources available to them and that they are never alone. Will knows the power first hand of having a Service Dog, which was given to him at NO COST, so now we are committed to paying this generosity forward and to be able to sponsor as many Service Dogs that are needed until we can end Veteran suicides.
We need your support to empower our Veterans and want to thank you for taking the time to view this campaign and an even bigger THANK YOU if you decided to donate to it. We cannot have community without the letters UNITY!
