My name is Alyssa, and I am in 11th grade. I have been playing the harp for almost 8 years. This is my second year in HSYO. I have grown a lot as a musician in the past year of participating in this orchestra. I have also been doing harp and flute duets with Xenia Makosky. I have learned much through this and have had a great time.
HSYO does this CADENZA! fundraiser annually to help pay for things like orchestral coaches, music rentals, chamber music experiences, and opportunities to travel to see live performances from world-class orchetsras. Please consider donating to keep these things possible.
Thank you so much,
Welcome to the Harrisburg Youth Symphony Orchestra's (HSYO) woodwind/harp section page! Our section is made up of 13 musicians this year: four flutes, four oboes/English horn, one clarinet, three bassoons, and, of course, harp. Together, we make an awesome section!
We need YOUR support. The entire HSYO needs to raise a total of $19,000 this year to pay for extra expenses not covered by tution. Your donation will help us afford quality rehearsal space, sustain regular coaching sessions with professional musicians, and continue to grow as musicians. Additionally, your support will allow the HSYO to continue offering extended learning opportunities such as masterclasses, concerto competitions, and an annual college panel discussion to help HSYO students better prepare for the college experience!
Our section needs to raise at least $1,560 for our Cadenza campaign, that's only $120 per musician. HSYO allows us the opportunity to come together with the most talented young musicians in the Central Pennsylvania area and do what we love: create music. Please help us to reach our goal and continue our love of music!
