Attention runners, walkers, bikers and joggers! Join HRC for our first "Strides for Equality" Virtual 5K, 10K, Bike Ride and Pet Walk!
Forget about race-day jitters, picking up your packet, or the pressure of running, walking, biking or jogging with hundreds of others. This race is on your terms -- participate from the comfort of your neighborhood, your local park, the streets near your house, or even inside your own home. Participate alone, or with people in your COVID bubble, or with your furry friends! You pick how you'd like to do your race, and we'll help make it fun along the way!
In Chicago, we are meeting at the Kwa-Ma-Rolas - the totem pole located at 3510 N Recreation Dr, Chicago, IL 60657 - at 10am, and are kicking off at 10:15. So, please be sure to arrive by 10. This is NOT an OFFICIAL EVENT. There are no race entries, judges, water stations, liabilites etc. Think of this as a group of friends running, walking, biking, strollering, etc. in the name of equality.
Feel free to sign up on the official page (link is above) or just make a small donation on this page. It's too late to get a shirt, etc, in the mail by Saturday. But, if you sign up officially, they may send you one after the fact.
My only ask is that you wear something to display your Pride, and have fun!
Also- my plan is to run/walk to 2 miles south of the totem pole then turn around and finish at the totem pole. You may join me or do whatever you'd like.
Hope to see you there!
