Hope Lives Here: A New Town Event

Join us on September 19th at 6:30pm at the New Town Amphitheatre as we celebrate our own cancer survivors and raise money for the American Cancer Society Hope Lodge, a free place for cancer patients & caregivers to  stay while undergoing treatment in St. Louis.

At this special event we will have survivor and caregiver recognition, a concert by Petty Cash Junction, and a luminaria ceremony.

Luminaria are  used at Relay For Life events to remember and support those that have fought cancer. Following the concert we will walk to the foutains where we will stop to reflect on those that may have lost their battle to cancer and those that are still fighting. We encourage you to purchase a luminaria bag in memory or in honor of your loved ones.

We hope you will join us as we show that hope does live here in New Town.

Story

Hope. A feeling of both anticipation and expectation. A feeling that ties us to what may be or what has yet to come. For cancer patients and survivors, hope is necessary, yet often fleeting.

The American Cancer Society St. Louis Hope Lodge, located in the Central West End, provides hope to cancer patients actively undergoing treatment by providing them and a caregiver a place to stay, entirely free of charge.

As you may have  noticed, there is a “HOPE” door placed at the New Town  Amphitheatre.  This door, titled "HOPE/HERE", is part of the 42 Doors of Hope Campaign for Hope Lodge.  You can find more information about the door at www.42doorsofhope.org.

If you have any questions, please reach out to American Cancer Society Staff Samantha Corson (samantha.corson@cancer.org; 314.602.3213).
